What type of paint should I use to paint interior wood?

There are many paints on the market and it can sometimes be difficult to choose the right paint for your wooden furniture makeover project.

Multi-surface paints allow you to avoid using multiple pots of paint and optimize your paint consumption.

However, this is not a paint that will be dedicated to wood and for this purpose the rendering will surely be less qualitative than a specific paint.

Furniture paints will be perfectly compatible for use on wood, as they are developed for this use.

They allow you to decorate your support while protecting the wood fibers.

Acrylic wood furniture paints are widely used for wooden surfaces but are not necessarily healthy and environmentally friendly.

For your makeover work, we recommend using a natural paint, which will be environmentally friendly and will release few VOCs.

Algo furniture paints are European Ecolabel certified.

Painting your interior woodwork and wooden furniture

Before painting your wooden furniture, don't hesitate to prepare the surface.

How to remove paint or varnish from wood?

Sanding first breaks the grain and removes the paint and varnish. This will allow you to apply the paint optimally.

On dirty surfaces, cleaning (or degreasing) to remove impurities may be recommended depending on the condition of the surface.

Apply an undercoat if your surface requires it

Depending on the wood paint you're applying, using a primer may not be necessary. However, for certain types of materials (exotic or tannic woods), a primer is strongly recommended.

For a consistent result, the application of two thin finishing coats is recommended, particularly on bright colors.

White, black or blue: what paint color for wooden furniture?

The color white is widely used because it is a color that appeals: sober, elegant and above all timeless, it now exists in colored shades allowing a compromise between the warmth of the color and the sobriety of white, like our warm white shade.

Among the 100 shades we offer, the "black summer sky" color is also a perfect color for renovating wooden furniture in particular.

Black with a hint of blue, the black summer sky is a trendy shade and can easily be combined with a wide range of colors from our color chart.
