White: a key color for your walls and ceilings in your interior

White is the most commonly used color in interiors, and for good reason: it creates a sense of space and brightness. It's also the default color and the one most commonly used (especially on ceilings).

Beyond the specificities offered by white paint, it is also a timeless and neutral color which can therefore be combined with all the colors in the color chart.

A washable and ultra-covering wall paint

The advantage of Algo paints lies in their covering power which is 12m²/L, even if our matt white finish is not single-coat, the covering power is very interesting, thus allowing for very good performance and optimal application comfort.

Matte finishes aren't known for being the most washable, but they are! You can maintain the paint and wash your walls if necessary.

However, it is recommended to wait 28 days after application to carry out the first washing so that the paint is completely dry.

The real advantage of the matte finish is also its ability to be used on imperfect supports and those with defects: the aesthetics of the matte finish will thus make it possible to mask any imperfections and defects in the support.

What is the difference between a matte white and satin white finish?

There are two major differences between the two finishes: the satin finish is more washable and therefore easier to maintain than the matte finish. Its other advantage is simply the silkier finish, thus providing more brightness in the room where it is applied.

The matte finish is the finish that will be recommended for the ceilings of your interior: this is the option that we recommend because the matte will tend to absorb light which is a real advantage.

Which white paint should I choose: matte or velvet?

Velvet can be an interesting alternative to matte: a hybrid finish between matte and satin, velvet will have the advantage of both finishes while optimizing the "defects" of these finishes.

Velvet, for example, will be slightly brighter and more washable than matte and will not be as shiny as a satin finish.

On ceilings, matte will remain the preferred option for its proven ability to absorb the light in the room.

  • Yield with a 10 liter pot

With a 10 litre pot you can paint up to 120m² of surface on conventional supports in one coat

  • Yield with a 5 liter pot

With a 5 litre pot you can paint up to 60m² of surface in one coat

  • Yield by applying two coats

If you plan to apply two coats, then you will be advised to use twice as much paint.

For example: for 10 liters of paint, you can apply 120m² in one coat and 60m² in two coats.
