Frequently Asked Questions

Do you recommend using an undercoat?

Oh yes! No matter how well prepared your surface is, you'll gain in ease of application and, above all, in the quality of your finish. For a few dozen euros more, the rendering of the shade you choose will be faithful and the small imperfections on your wall will be reduced: it's really worth it!

What tools do you recommend?

Regarding the application of our paint, we recommend using 14 mm microfibre rollers, crossing the layers well during application.

Our rollers are available on our website with or without a frame: https://www.peinture-algo.fr/products/monture-clip-rouleau-microfibre?variant=34044858073220

Does the paint have a smell?

Based on the elements that make up our paint range, we confirm that our paint emits very little, if any, odor depending on each person's subjectivity.

It may be related to the evaporation of water after application for 24/48 hours. In any case, it remains very low and not at all bothersome.

How many diapers do you recommend?

Our beautiful shades will last you for many years. Take the time to apply a base coat and two top coats for an optimal, smooth finish that matches the shade you have carefully selected for your home!

Pearl gray

Decorating trends are constantly evolving, and so are the colors.
Among them, some of them remain always trendy in terms of decoration. This is the case of pearl gray which is a shade that has everything to please: modern and elegant, its sobriety is a significant advantage when the question arises of the choice of the shade to apply in its interior.

Versatile like many shades of gray, pearl gray will have the ability to harmonize with a wide range of colors in the color chart.
A very soft, pastel gray, it is the perfect combination of the depth of gray and the brightness of white.

The advantages of pearl gray

Pearl gray is, above all, a timeless and easy-to-match shade. This shade is guaranteed to always be on trend.
Very bright due to the softness that characterizes pearl gray, it will be a real asset for small rooms or rooms with little light.
It is a shade that will give a feeling of certain space reflecting natural light which is a considerable asset for living rooms and bedrooms.

Pearl gray works well with many decorating styles: for example, in a contemporary setting, it highlights modern elements. In a minimalist, clean setting, pearl gray creates a chic, modern feel.

In classic interiors, pearl gray enhances the understated and elegant look. Rooms decorated in a Scandinavian style are also possible with this shade.

Living room, bedroom or kitchen: in which room should pearl gray be used?

As mentioned, the real benefit of pearl gray is its ability to adapt to many types of atmospheres and decor, to an infinite variety of colors but also in the vast majority of rooms in the house!
Color is a real eye-opener and can completely change the atmosphere of a room.
Without further ado, here are our tips for applying pearl gray to the rooms of your home.

The living room: for an elegant atmosphere

Applied to a living room, this light gray will ensure an elegant and understated space. In addition to wall surfaces, pearl gray can be applied to other surfaces such as your wooden furniture, or even your ceilings, for example!
To provide more contrast to the color, you can opt for a combination with brighter colors to create an accent.

In a bedroom to ensure relaxation

The bedroom is the room where we most need tranquility and relaxation. Luckily, gray is a color that contributes to this aspect, especially in light gray shades like pearl gray.

Guaranteed serenity, this shade will also play a role in the feeling of space in the room: even more so if pearl gray is applied throughout the room.

For a refined kitchen

It may come as a surprise, but pearl gray is perfectly suited to a kitchen for a clean, contemporary look.
Be careful, however, not to obtain a result that is too sober and sterile: this is why the elements used must be in harmony with the gray color.
Using plants can also be a good option.

In a dining room for a warm look

The dining room is generally conducive to convivial moments and sharing. Pearl gray is more associated with its soft and understated character, but it's still entirely possible to highlight this shade in a dining room.

Accompanied by decorative elements highlighting the shade, it is entirely possible to obtain a warm and sophisticated atmosphere.

What color should pearl gray be paired with?

There are colors and shades for which the question is much more difficult. As for light gray, it can be combined with a very rich variety of colors.
The sober and timeless appearance of light gray therefore makes it easy to harmonize with the other colors in the color chart.

However, we offer you a selection of colors that provide the most suitable results.

Pure white, a risk-free combination

When asked what's more neutral than pearl gray, the answer is undoubtedly pure white. The brightest and most vibrant white in the Algo range, it's the ultimate standard white.
Its association with gray will contribute to a delicate graphic effect.

Pairing pearl gray with pure white also gives you the opportunity to have the best possible feeling of space.

Gingerbread brown, for a warm atmosphere

It's a combination that may seem daring, but it will be beneficial for the atmosphere of your room.

A delicious and warm color, this currently fashionable brown will stand out and add character to the room where it is applied.

Be careful, however, its use should be limited to a few touches so as not to darken the room too much and not to overshadow the pearl gray.

Atlantic blue: guaranteed tonicity!

With a soft shade like pearl gray, pairing it with bright hues is easy. Atlantic blue is one of those shades that can be paired seamlessly.
A blue that is both invigorating and very deep, this color, synonymous with calm and serenity, will find its place with a soft gray that will act as a contrast aimed at softening the strength of this blue.

Creamy beige

Creamy beige is a warmer color than white, making it more welcoming to the room where it is used.
A neutral shade like white, it will allow you to combine pearl gray without any compromise while ensuring the impression of space in the room.
