White paint is by far the most used in interiors: it is also the default shade applied to the walls of new buildings and on a large majority of surfaces to be painted for decoration enthusiasts.
White paint is known for its wide range of benefits, but white can also be incorporated into a full-fledged decorating project.
In fact, it is used in interiors to give a look that is minimalist or even Scandinavian and modern.
In addition, white is now available in a multitude of shades, which leaves plenty of room for highlighting white in your interior design.
Warm white, cool white, neutral white: choose the right shade
As mentioned earlier, white is a paint color that comes in a multitude of shades, which can make choosing the right color for your home more complex. It does, however, have the real advantage of being able to choose between several types of shades: whether you prefer a soothing warm white, a cool white, or a more standard white.
Luckily, our color chart consists of a complete white palette covering a large part of the white spectrum that can harmonize with the space and natural light.
Pure white: a standard white
A vibrant white, it's also the white most chosen by our customers. It's true that it has many qualities; pure white is a shade that will accentuate the brightness of the room, making it a real asset in dimly lit and narrow rooms.
You can combine it with any of the colors in the color chart, or in a total look if you want to opt for a modern, minimalist and refined decoration.
Contrasts are also highly recommended with the possibility of adding darker shades such as black or charcoal gray.
Warm white, the most popular tinted white
It's all in its name: warm white is warmed by a hint of yellow which will enhance the room in which it is applied, a bedroom or a living room for example.
Understated yet full of warmth, warm white is very trendy and leaves the possibility of choosing color while remaining understated and neutral.
As with all the whites in our collection, it adapts to all shades and all rooms of the house.
The cold white of the range: the Arctic polar bear
This is the white you need for overly lit interiors! Subtly tinted with gray, it allows you to retain the light but not accentuate it, which can be very interesting in large or overly lit spaces.
The gray in this shade plays a role in its ability to create a simple, minimalist ambiance.
The term “cold” should not be considered pejorative in this case, but rather as a guarantee of bridging with other colors without having too much contrast.
The white beluga, the other warm white
Subtly tinged with pink, Beluga White is the other warm white in the Algo range. While its pink side may raise some eyebrows, it undeniably brings a sense of comfort.
This is a great option if you have other items to highlight other decorative elements.
For a chic and contemporary decor, opt for a total look.
Which white finish should I choose?
We mention this several times in different articles: while the finish will not have an impact on the final color, it will have a real impact on the rendering.
When opting for minimalist decoration, details count, which is why the choice is really important.
The finish contributes to the aesthetics of the painting and we recommend two for the implementation of your decoration:
The satin finish
Satin has the advantage of reflecting light, which is a plus. Its slightly shiny finish will add character to the piece and contribute to a more aesthetic and silky finish.
The velvet finish
It's a finish halfway between matte and satin. Increasingly popular in decoration, the velvet finish has a very pleasant velvety feel, combining the aesthetic qualities of matte and satin.
Very modern, velvet is therefore a great opportunity to maximize the minimalist effect of your interior decoration.
Decorative elements are as important as painting
Paint is the most visible aspect of decorating, but in a chic and refined contemporary setting, decorative elements and accessories take on a whole new importance in creating a soothing atmosphere. We therefore recommend highlighting decorative elements that can visually enhance your decor.
Using frames on the walls will allow you to dress the room in a simple way without overloading it and without overpowering the paint already applied to the walls.
Textiles will also be of real importance: cushions, curtains, rugs can be colored to add comfort and texture to the room.
You have two options when it comes to textiles: opt for soft colors or choose to use colors to create more contrast.
Wood is also popular: it will bring visual richness and also texture.
Also think about furniture to compose your decoration, or simply about potential color combinations .
