Frequently Asked Questions

Do you recommend using an undercoat?

Oh yes! No matter how well prepared your surface is, you'll gain in ease of application and, above all, in the quality of your finish. For a few dozen euros more, the rendering of the shade you choose will be faithful and the small imperfections on your wall will be reduced: it's really worth it!

What tools do you recommend?

Regarding the application of our paint, we recommend using 14 mm microfibre rollers, crossing the layers well during application.

Our rollers are available on our website with or without a frame: https://www.peinture-algo.fr/products/monture-clip-rouleau-microfibre?variant=34044858073220

Does the paint have a smell?

Based on the elements that make up our paint range, we confirm that our paint emits very little, if any, odor depending on each person's subjectivity.

It may be related to the evaporation of water after application for 24/48 hours. In any case, it remains very low and not at all bothersome.

How many diapers do you recommend?

Our beautiful shades will last you for many years. Take the time to apply a base coat and two top coats for an optimal, smooth finish that matches the shade you have carefully selected for your home!

Mustard Yellow

Mustard yellow is a shade that became a key color a few years ago in interior decoration, and more particularly in paint.
Its name clearly comes from the famous condiment and its very easily identifiable amber yellow color, which makes it a strong identity marker.
A warm shade, it is a shade that allows you to add a sophisticated touch, which is not the case with all the yellows in our range.
In monochrome or in combination, mustard yellow is quite simply one of the most popular shades of yellow.

A color full of vitality

Mustard yellow conveys emotions beyond its hue: like many paint shades, it conveys warmth and vitality. Since yellow is particularly known for its sunny character, mustard yellow is also in this vein, exuding a sense of optimism and creativity.
Its advantage lies in the very pronounced color of this shade which can simply transform a space all by itself.
Depending on its use, mustard yellow can be considered in different ways in decoration. Mustard yellow can simply be an accent color used to enhance existing decor.

Finally, the impact of mustard yellow will be completely different depending on the type of room in which it is applied and the colors with which it is associated.

In which room should you apply mustard yellow?

Using mustard yellow paint requires knowing the exact layout of your rooms (brightness, size of the room, orientation, etc.)
Some will apply it in small touches so as not to saturate the space: this will be particularly beneficial in small rooms or those with little light.
Indeed, excessive use of mustard yellow can lead to visual saturation, which is obviously not the desired decorative effect.
The solution for this type of room is to use it sparingly by using a more neutral shade and favoring mustard yellow decorative elements.

Mustard yellow is a versatile shade and can therefore adapt to many styles of decoration: modern and refined, or even minimalist with accents to enhance certain elements.

The living room:

If you want to use mustard yellow paint in the living room, we wouldn't necessarily recommend applying it to the entire room.
Using it on one section of wall will be sufficient, to mark certain decorative elements or simply to focus the visual attraction on a particular section of wall.
Furniture will play a key role in color harmonization: it is advisable to use furniture in neutral tones to balance the visual impact.
Touches of gray will be beneficial for an elegant atmosphere.

The master bedroom:

Although very sunny, mustard yellow remains a strong shade, which is why we suggest using it in strategic places in the room: on the headboard, for example.
As with the living room, gray works very well. Other potential colors that lend themselves to a combination, such as navy blue or warm white, will ensure a more neutral decor in the bedroom.

The bathroom:

The bathroom is generally a fairly narrow room, and what's more, it's not always the brightest room in the house. For this reason, mustard yellow should be used in a limited area.
Pair with a neutral color to ensure a feeling of space.

The office:

With new uses, particularly those related to teleworking, more and more of us are working from home and the question of the color of the office is therefore totally legitimate!
Yellow is a color known to promote creativity and energy, which explains why mustard yellow will be the perfect ally for your workday.
To go further, opt for wooden furniture with neutral colors.

What color should I use to apply mustard yellow?

As mentioned earlier, mustard yellow is particularly striking when paired with other shades. It's quite rare to use mustard yellow as a total look in a room due to its vibrant color.

Discover some colors that we recommend combining with mustard yellow:

The gray:

Gray and yellow are two colors that balance each other perfectly! A very trendy color combination right now, gray will temper the strength of mustard yellow while giving a feeling of modernity and elegance to the room.
This combination has everything to seduce, especially since gray is a neutral and timeless shade.
To achieve the cleanest visual sensation possible, light grays will be perfect.

White:

White generally goes with everything. This base color will help to purify the room in which the mustard yellow is applied, but above all, to highlight it.
No matter what white you apply, you'll only have eyes for the mustard yellow.
For a little more warmth and originality, you can use a lightly colored white such as a warm white or a creamy white, lightly accompanied by a touch of ivory.

Navy blue:

Yes, it's definitely a bold color combination. But upon closer inspection, navy blue pairs perfectly with mustard yellow, so it would be a shame to miss out.
This combination will give character to the room and create a chic atmosphere.

Black:

For lovers of a contemporary look, black is a great match with mustard yellow. This combination, which may seem daring at first glance, is also an opportunity to create a striking contrast.
If you want a strong black, the piano black is the deepest in our range.
